Natural wood has become an essential element in our homes in recent times. We see it in all versions and in all types. The strength of the Nordic decoration and the rise of handcrafts, this material come back to importance within the houses.
we increasingly recycle and give new life to aged pallets, fruit boxes or wooden coils and now we also begin to see that the trunks, branches, and sticks can be great allies to decorate our home. Do you want to know more?
A trunk can be a great raw material for creating furniture for our home. It is a resistant material and warm. We can work in many different ways, which opens a wide range of possibilities.
For a coffee table, it is a great option. Just with sanding and preparing it well, it doesn’t take much more. The unique shape and beauty of natural wood speaks for itself. Although as always, we can go beyond painting, combining various materials, incorporating wheels or giving our personal touch.
A combination of trunks with different sizes and shapes can look great in a large room. We can also choose a wooden seat and legs of another material. A base with recycled paper and wooden legs. Or a single table made from 3 slices of a trunk as shown in the pictures.
Even add wheels or tie a set of logs with a belt to get a different effect:
A stool is a relatively simple piece because the shape of the trunk already helps us a lot. If we sanded well and prepared it to be able to sit without sticking a splinter in our backside, it can be left as is. It will look great in a kitchen with a more rustic or natural look.
Another option is to shape the wood or add some comfortable and beautiful cushions as in these images:
Wood for countertops and tables is another proposal to introduce wood into our home. A bathroom or a kitchen with a beautiful natural wood countertop will amazing.
Shelves are also something that we can easily build with logs. We can make some shelves by cutting the trunk vertically, use branches in a V shape as support or use a trunk a base and add some shelves of another material … the imagination sets the limits!
If we have stairs and we find a trunk with an attractive shape and an adequate size, we can also use it as a handrail. I love it!
And finally, we can cheer up with a nice log headboard. A simple idea that will give our bedroom a very special touch.
